What to do after CAT!
There is a feeling of relief after one finishes CAT
{irrespective of how it went}.
A lot of students fall into the trap of this RELIEF per
se. What to do next !
Basically two options
1.
Take a loooooooooooooong break {as you have
worked so hard for CAT}
2.
Prepare for the remaining MBA entrance
examinations XAT, IIFT,SNAP,NMAT and ALL!
Which one is the most LOGICAL one
? I am sure you have an answer. But which one will be followed by most of the
students ? I am even more sure about the answer.
Now think carefully why should
you chose the 2. Option
Reason 1: Even the GOD can’t tell you how much
percentile will you score in CAT.I know there are some above GOD , who can
predict that. J
But jokes apart , you can’t be sure of your percentile in CAT so why bank on CAT only!
Reason2: The amount of effort your competitors will be
putting in will not be as sincere as they have put in CAT , so it becomes
Easier to score percentile.
Reason 3: Exams like XAT, IIFT,SNAP,NMAT and ALL have
some excellent B-schools .And Imagine you are going in an IIM interview
with Calls from XL , Symbiosis and
others as compared to you have IIM calls only! As a back up it certainly helps
Reason 4: your goal is to do MBA, it was never taking
CAT only and stop.
So wake up, take a 2-3 day break
. Have a party and the stop . Do write all other exams sincerely.
Do not think I will not go into X or Y or Z B-school. Till
the point , you convert a call , you don’t
have a right to say that I will not go to that place. Convert the call and then
don’t go ! But please convert the call!
It is very similar to Mallika Shehrawat saying that I will
not marry Salman Khan!
All the best!
